Perception Survey on Automated Interpreting
Please complete this survey by December 10, 2023.
Available in 11 languages.
Examples include doctors or patients, lawyers or trial witnesses, social service workers or refugees, conference speakers or conference attendees.
Available in English only.
Examples include buyers of interpreting services (procurement specialist, scheduler, conference organizer), service providers (interpreter of spoken or signed languages or language service provider), language technology providers, and interpreter trainers.
What is it about?
The goal of the survey is to capture current perceptions on artificial intelligence used for interpreting. This first study is intended to help the Interpreting SAFE-AI Task Force assess the state of acceptance in the market and expectations from the various stakeholder groups.
Is it biased for or against AI?
Neither. The underlying motives are not about defending the commercial interests of technology vendors or service providers, nor is it about safeguarding employment potential for language professionals. The mission is to find what is best for end-users of interpreting services, with a nuanced view that will vary by scenario.
Who is conducting the research?
